Rajasthan Heritage Tours

Duration : 15 Nights / 16 Days

Destinations Covered : Delhi - Mandawa - Jaisalmer - Jodhpur - Kumbhalgarh - Udaipur - Kota - Ranthambore - Jaipur - Delhi

Day 01: Arrival at Delhi

You will be welcomed by our representatives on the first day of your Rajasthan Heritage Tours and would be transferred to your pre-booked hotel. Rest of the day will be at your leisure. Your overnight stay will be in Delhi.

Day 02: Delhi-Mandawa

Mandawa is located 190 km off Jaipur in Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan Heritage Tours. Mandawa Fort (built in 1755) is the prime attraction of the town. Since Mandawa is a part of Shekhawati region of Rajasthan, you can also see several beautiful havelis in Mandawa. Your overnight stay will be at a Mandawa heritage hotel.

Day 03: Mandawa - Bikaner

We will drive to Bikaner on the third day of our Rajasthan Heritage Tours and visit the following destinations of the city:

Junagarh Fort : It was built between 1589 and 1594 by Raja Rai Singh. It has 96 m long wall and 37 bastions. Sun Gate is the main entrance to the fort. Chandra Mahal, Phool Mahal and Karan Mahal are other attractions of Junagarh Fort.

Lal Garh Palace : It was built by Maharaja Ganga Singh to commemorate the memory of his father Maharaja Lal Singh. It has imposing overhanging balconies with delicate carvings.

Ganga Golden Jubilee Museum : The museum has rich collection of weapons, coins, terracotta ware and paintings of Bikaner school of art.

Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Bikaner.

Day 04: Bikaner

We will continue sightseeing of Bikaner this day also and visit the following attractions:

Laxmi Niwas Palace : It was built by the British architect Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob in 1902 in Indo-Saracenic style. It is built in red stone and earlier was the residence of former king of Bikaner Raja Ganga Singh.

Gajner Palace : Also referred as "The Jewel of the Thar", Gajner Palace was conceived to be the summer resort of Rajput rulers. Jharokhas (skylights) and screens are the main attractions of Gajner Palace.

Deshnok Temple : Also known as Karni Mata Temple, the 600 year old temple is situated 32 km off Bikaner. Rats are considered holy here and devotees feed them heartily in the temple premises.

Day 05: Bikaner – Jaisalmer

We will drive to Bikaner on fifth day of our Rajasthan Heritage Tours and visit the following destinations:

Jaisalmer Fort : The imposing Jaisalmer Fort is also known as Sonar Quila or the Golden Fort. The 800 year old Jaisalmer Fort is situated on Trikuta Hill and has 99 defending turrets.

Gadsisar Lake : Also known as Godi Sagar Lake, the beautiful rain water lake was built by Maharwal Gadsi in fourteenth century. Tilon-ko-Pol gateway is the main attraction of the lake.

Patwaon-ji-ki-Haveli : The beautiful haveli has colorful frescos and beautifully carved patterns. It has large corridors, beautifully adorned walls and wonderfully sculpted pillars.

Overnight stay will be in Jaisalmer.

Day 06: Jaisalmer

We will continue sightseeing of Jaisalmer for one more day and visit the following destinations:

Tazia Tower : The pagoda like five tiered Tazia Tower stands next to Badal Mahal. It has delicately carved balconies.

Nathmal-ji-ki-Haveli : The 19th century haveli is known for its miniature paintings and beautifully ornamented façade.

Desert National Park : The 3150 sq km Desert National Park has craggy rocks, 3 lakes and is home to some rare flora and fauna of the arid region of Rajasthan.

Day 07: Jaisalmer- Jodhpur

We will depart for Jodhpur on the seventh day of our Rajasthan Heritage Tours and visit the following destinations:

Mehrangarh Fort : The imposing fort was constructed in 1459 by Rao Jodha and is situated 5 km off the city center. Jayapol and Fatehpol are the two main entrances to the fort.

Jaswant Thada : It is a 19th century royal cenotaph of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The white marble monument has intricate carvings and beautiful terrace.

Umaid Bhawan Palace : It is one of the largest private residences of the world. It is made with Chittar sandstone and is spread over 90000 sq km.

Other attractions of Jodhpur are: Mandore Garden, Government Museum, Phool Mahal, Clock Tower, Machiya Safari Park and Pali City.

Day 08: Jodhpur-Kumbhalgarh

We shall see the following attractions of Kumbhalgarh during the day:

Kumbhalgarh Fort : It is situated on the banks of Banas river. The fort is strengthened by a Watch Tower and has 13 mountain peaks.

Badal Mahal : Literally meaning the Palace of Cloud, it is situated on top of the Kumbhalgarh Fort. The two storey fort has two distinct but interconnected portions.

Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary : The 586 sq km sanctuary is spread over Aravali range of mountains and is home to a variety of flora and fauna of the arid region of Rajasthan Heritage Tour.

Other attractions of Kumbhalgarh are: Vedi Temple, Ghanerao (monuments), Ranakpur Jain Temples, Mammadev Temple and Neelkanth Mahadeo Temple.

Day 09: Kumbhalgarh – Udaipur

We will drive to Udaipur on the ninth day of our tour and visit its following destinations:

City Palace : The beautiful palace has well decorated mirror tiles and paintings. Its main entrance is through Ganesh Deori. A part of the palace now has been converted into a museum.

Fateh Sagar Lake : It was constructed in 1678 by Maharaja Fateh Singh Ji. You can enjoy a pleasure boat ride in the crystal clear waters of the lake.

Jagdish Temple : It was built by Maharana Jagat Singh between 1628 – 1653. It is dedicated to Lord Jagannath and you can reach to the temple by ascending a flight of steps.

Overnight stay will be at a resort in Udaipur.

Day 10: Udaipur

We will continue sightseeing of Udaipur this day also and visit its following attractions:

Jagmandir Island : Its construction was started by Maharana Karan Singh and completed by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1652. It has beautifully carved chhatris and one can have panoramic view of the surroundings from the island.

Saheliyon ki Bari : It is a well planned garden with expansive shady lawns. It is situated on the banks of Fateh Sagar Lake and has a lotus pond and beautiful fountains.

Ranakpur Jain Temples : The fifteenth century temples are of great importance for Jain devotees. Sun Temple and Parshavanath Temple are the main attractions of Ranakpur temples.

Day 11: Udaipur-Kota

We will see the following attractions of Kota during the day:

City Fort Palace and Museum : The beautiful palace overlooks Chambal river. Naya Darwaza or New Gate is the main entrance to the palace. It also houses Rao Madho Singh Museum which has good collection of miniature paintings, armory and sculptures.

Jagmandir Palace : It is situated on a small island in Kishore Sagar Lake and was built in 1740 by Maharanis of Kota. Keshar Bagh is in close vicinity to the palace.

Chambal Gardens : The beautiful gardens landscape Amar Niwas and are a popular picnic spot. There is a pond in it which is inhabited by crocodiles.

Other attractions of Kota are: Kishore Sagar Tank, Brij Vilas Palace Museum and Chhatar Bilas Garden.

Day 12: Kota-Bundi-Ranthambore

We will drive to Bundi on the twelfth day of our Rajasthan Heritage Tours and visit the following attractions:

Talwas Fort : It is situated near Ramgarh Sanctuary and was built by Raja Ajit Singh. It houses a lake full of lotus flowers.

Step Wells : Also known as Baori, Kund and Sagar, the step wells were originally made to provide drinking water to the residents of Bundi.

Chitrashala : Also known as Ummmed Mahal, the 18th century palace lies inside the Garh Palace and is known for its elevated podium and lavish rooms.

Other attractions of Bundi are: Phool Sagar, Indragarh Fort, Dugari (lakes) and Sukh Mahal.

We will drive to Ranthambore in evening. Overnight stay will be at a lodge in Ranthambore.

Day 13: Ranthambore – Jaipur

We will visit the following attractions of Ranthambore during the day:

Ranthambore Fort : The tenth century fort is the oldest fort of Rajasthan Heritage Tour and has massive gates and many temples inside it.

Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary : The 392 sq km sanctuary is a Tiger Reserve and is home to a variety of endangered mammalian, avian, reptilian and plant species.

Jogi Mahal : The palace overlooks the pretty Padam Talab. India's second oldest banyan tree is situated within its precincts which is a great attraction for the tourists.

We will drive to Jaipur at evening. Overnight stay will be at a hotel in Jaipur.

Day 14: Jaipur

We will visit the following attractions of Jaipur during the day:

Hawa Mahal : The beautiful honeycomb like palace has 953 small windows with intricate work that were used by the royal ladies to view the street processions below without themselves being seen by any strangers.

Jantar Mantar : It is a huge observatory which was constructed by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh to observe the movements of heavenly bodies.

City Palace and Museum : It is a perfect blend of Rajput and Mogul architectural styles. The seven storey palace also houses a Clock Tower. It remains open for the public from 09.30 AM to 05.00 PM.

Your overnight stay will be at a hotel in Jaipur.

Day 15: Jaipur (continued)

We will continue sightseeing of Jaipur for one more day and view its following attractions:

Ishwar Lat : Also known as Swarg Suli literally meaning the Heaven Piercing Minaret, it was built by Maharaja Ishwari Singh and offers a breathtaking view of the city.

Jal Mahal : The beautiful palace is 6 km from Jaipur on the way to Amer, and is situated in the middle of Man Sagar Lake.

Nahargarh Fort : The imposing fort is situated atop a 600 ft high hill and was built in 1734. Hawa Mandir is one of its prime attractions.

Other attractions of Jaipur are: Galta, Sisodia Rani Garden, Vidhyasagar Garden, Amer, Kanak Vrindavan and Laxmi Narayan Temple.

Your overnight stay will be at Jaipur.

Day 16: Jaipur-Delhi

This will be the last day of your Rajasthan Heritage Tours. We will depart for Delhi after breakfast from where you can take flight or train back to your home.
